Abstract
Student-athletes in the present study seemed more athlete-students in that theywere consistently more concerned about their athletic performance than their academic
performance. With the number of road trips and early scheduled classes, students freed
up their mid-afternoons to late evenings for the respective sport of which they were a part
of. By conducting such research, a number of different elements became clearer during
the researcher's efforts to find out why an athlete chooses a specific institution, the nature
of his or her overall university experience, and the interpersonal relationships college
athletes make throughout the course of their undergraduate careers.
